Currently Reading....

     (Source)

One Day by David Nicholls...Oh? You can see that from book cover above? Right.....moving on.

So I've only just begun reading this book and i'm in love with it already. It's a little bit of romance, a little bit of comedy with a lot of serious tones on life, family, careers post-college, love and the ever mysterious nature of male/female friendships. I have to say it's been a great read so far.

Well, that said,  I better get my read on. Why you ask? because I've just discovered that they've made the movie adaptation of this book! The movie features Jim Sturgess and Anne Hathaway as main characters Dexter and Emma. (Sigh*) It's in post- production and set for release sometime this fall! How's that for reading incentive??  Can't wait to get back to my book. Darn you work.... :)

Epic-ness

Clint Mansell...what can I say about his work other than sheer genius. I can never pass up a musical piece that moves me to tears. He has gotten me all teary eyed on more then one occassion. The one the gets me everytime. Death Is The Road To Awe from the movie The Fountain. Beautiful composition.

The music he's composed, the soundtracks to great movies like: Requiem For A Dream, The Fountain, Smoking Aces, Definitely Maybe and most recently Black Swan. These soundtracks are a must hear for movie and music lovers alike.

Below are a few of my faves....

Family is.....?

You don't choose your family.
They are God's gift to you, as you are to them.
 ~Desmond Tutu~

My heart is heavy today. Thinking about all the families that are going thru struggles, going  thru divorce, attempting to pick up the pieces, repairing marriage and relationships. It's so disheartening these days, to witness a home unravel. Scares me to think of my future and what's in store.

Today, I'm praying for all those families...for peace of mind and encouragement. You are not alone in your struggle, there is One person who will never fail us. Even when the ones we love and the world itself fail us.
